What's happening at Oregon Wild Rice

After our first year of growing rice, our rice was such a success that we decided to re-construct and improve our rice fields to cultivate even more delicious wild rice for 2006! Here are some photos from the process:

Digging out the new rice paddy irrigation system was no small task, so we decided to bring out the heavy equipment.

We got to really get our hands dirty laying down the piping for the irrigation system.

And here it is, sure it only looks like a giant mud puddle, but to our rice, this is paradise. Currently this year's crop of rice is in the ground and will soon be ready to harvest and begin the trip from our fields to your dinner table!
